There’s also domain authority. Domain authority of a website describes its relevance for a specific subject area or industry. The higher the number the more likely your website will appear on the first page of the Google results. In order to get a higher domain authority, you need to create high-quality and relevant content. Quality and relevancy trumps quantity every time. As your domain authority grows your website will start to build trust with Google and in return, you’ll start to appear higher in search engines.
Finally there are inbound and outbound links. Google likes it when you link to a different website or link to another page on your own website. This is a signal to Google that both of your websites are relevant to one another, which in turn gives them a reason to place you higher up on the search engine.

Paid traffic is quite simply a marketing strategy that you pay for that drives specific visitors to your website. One example being advertising on Facebook or Google Adwords. What is Organic Search Traffic?
Organic traffic comes from search engines. Someone typing something into Google and Google giving them your website as a resource. Going with our previous example, someone looking for red jackets and Google showing them your website. They found you because Google deemed your website as the best fit for what they are looking for.
Other Types of Website Traffic
There’s also social traffic which comes from sharing your content on social media and participating in hashtags on platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.
Direct traffic is traffic that comes to your website when someone types your website link in their search bar. For example, typing www.tactycs.io. Instead of going to Google, typing Tactycs and then clicking onto the website.
Referral traffic is traffic that comes to your website from another site, usually through their referral or backlinks.

The use of social media is one strategy for driving traffic. The key to this, however, is consistency and quality. You need to engage with your audience and show that you care. You can’t just post once and not ever go back. When you engage with your followers it shows that you’re trying and they will want to do the same. If you’re able to provide high value you should notice an increase in your social traffic.
